My Philosophy

The philosophy of the A+ Advantage can best be described as the Flexibility, Collaboration, and Keeping it Simple approach. Adapting and following these three steps helps the path to success run smoothly.

Flexibility

You could not step twice into the same river; for other waters are ever flowing on to you.

— Heraclitus

Every day brings exciting new opportunities. I can adapt to changing needs and schedules. I relish the opportunity to work with students of all ages and backgrounds.

Collaboration

No one among them being strong enough to engage in the struggle alone with advantage, nothing but a general combination can protect their liberty.

— Alexis de Tocqueville

Working together is key to success. I am a firm believer that students and tutors help to inspire each other, and that a collaborative effort is necessary.

Keeping it Simple

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

— Leonardo da Vinci

Complexity is achieved by abiding by the KISS (Keep it simple) principle. I am an advocate for clarity in writing, and I inspire students to create thought-provoking texts using their own clear wording.

In my teaching, I am dedicated to practicing what I preach. I received my inspiration in part through my studies at the University of Toronto, where I majored in Literature and Philosophy, and first started honing my skills as a tutor, often editing the essays of other students in my dorm.

Do or do not. There is no try.

— Yoda

Using the A+ Advantage combination of Collaboration, Flexibility, and Keeping it Simple, difficult obstacles become more manageable. I will reduce stress and save time. By following this approach, imagining and achieving future success quickly becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
